Edward de Bono Institute Project
In a collaborative exercise between the Institute for the Design and Development of Thinking and Ogilvy Malta, Masters students following the study unit Creativity and Innovation in the Media and reading for an MA in Creativity and Innovation, will have the opportunity to have their assignment / project for this study unit posted to the Ogilvy100 website.
The general principle underpinning the project, is for students to be challenged, to produce an academic and creative project, in keeping with the philosophy of the de Bono Institute’s overall pedagogical position. Students will work in groups of 2 or 3, which reflects a creative working / advertising agency model and they are challenged to produce a creative production that has rigorous academic underpinnings. The final ‘piece’ will take the shape of an essay, a piece of prose, an audio-visual production, a poem, a rap, or any other format and genre.
As this year is the 100th anniversary of the David Ogilvy’s birth, and Ogilvy Malta is hosting a dedicated website http://www.ogilvy100.com/ to mark his anniversary, students are tasked to cameo ‘David Ogilvy’ as an advertising entity. They can focus on any aspect of ‘the man’; ‘his life’, his contribution to advertising, his advertising successes/failures, his philosophy, his advertising strategies, etc.
